David Cook that is. The season finale was actually half way decent - topped off with a surprise Idol pick. Cook was probably the right choice, but it sure didn't look like he was going to win after Tuesdays show and the Simon ratings. It was a mostly entertaining two hours - my kids were mesmerized in any event!
The surprising part of this show was that David Cook somewhat tanked and David Archuletta rocked. Even more surprising was Simon voting Cook out. I think that performances apart, most fans will go with their singer of choice through the season, not based on their final performances. Even more entertaining that the show itself: Joel's live blogging at TV with Meevee!

The acting in this episode was okay, but the writers just keep writing stupid and not very entertaining story lines. The manipulative child storyline is just not very fun. It takes a lot for me to abandon a TV show, but I'm barely hanging in there!
In some ways the show seems to be dragging on, but those of us hooked continue to watch. The contestants performances seem somewhat predictable - they have their own individual styles that show through no matter what song they sing. Jason forget his words - he has gotta go tonight!
..he is just as awesome as he was in the early 80s when I remember listening to his music - looking forward to buying his new album. Brooke left, as she should have - thank goodness. Jason next week...although he seems to have a strong fan base that will perhaps keep him a week longer than Syesha.
